How to Enrol

You are very welcome to enroll as an international student at Gisborne Boys’ High School. Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Apply

  • Download the Application Form and Contract of Enrolment Form on this page. Complete and send it to:  michelem@gisboyshigh.net

  • Once we have received your application, an assessment will be made of your suitability for our programmes.

Step 2: Payment and Visa

  • You or your agent will be advised whether the application has been successful. If accepted, students will be sent an Offer of Place to study at Gisborne Boys’ High School.

  • A school invoice will be sent to you or your agent. Fees include tuition for the course you are studying, homestay fees, uniform, incidentals, other fees, and insurance (medical and travel). If you are organizing your own full insurance coverage a copy of your policy must be sent in English to the school.

  • The school will send a receipt for payment of fees. This along with the Offer of Place are essential documents required by Immigration New Zealand to apply for a Student Visa.

Step 3: Homestay and Flights

  • The school’s Homestay Manager will organize a suitable homestay family placement.

  • You will be advised of your homestay placement and a Homestay Family Profile will be sent before you depart for New Zealand. You are encouraged to make contact with your family before your flight to NZ.

Step 4: Arrival

  • ‘Meet and Greet’ at Auckland International Airport can be arranged. You will be met at Gisborne Airport and taken to your homestay family.

  • You can pick up your uniform from the Uniform Shop at school on your first day or prior to this.

  • You will start school with an Orientation Program with the International Director, that will help you adjust to your new school environment and course chosen.

  • If you have any questions about the enrolment procedure, please send your inquiry to Ms Michele McCarthy, International Director at:

michelem@gisboyshigh.net
